Our horse feeds only include non GM soya which has been cooked and rolled. Many other feeds contain common alternatives such as High Protein (Hipro) soya or Brazilian soya. Hipro soya has been processed using hexane - a by-product of the petroleum industry - to extract the soya oil from it. When used, residues of hexane are left in the oil, causing a bitter smell and the oil is heated more than once during the process, meaning quality is diminished.
